Database Error

Problem

While opening the WebAdmin, the following error message is displayed in the browser:

Solution

This problem happens when the Database could not be started due to missing or corrupted data.

This occurs when

  • The IACBOX has been shut down abruptly (Loss of power, hard shutdown via powerbutton, Ungraceful shutdown of a Virtual Machine…)
  • The systems harddrive is failing

The first course of action recommended is to enter the Rescue-Mode and attempt to repair the filesystem.
If this error occurs on a Virtual Machine, restoring a snapshot of an earlier version can often lead to success.

In case none of the steps above were able to recover the filesystem, a reinstallation of the IACBOX is inevitable.
Should such an extreme case occur, first establish the cause of the system-failure so that a reinstal does not occur on faulty hardware.
