RaspberryPi Installation

This manual describes how to install the IACBOX on a RaspberryPi 4 B board.

Hint

  • The installation medium of the IACBOX for RaspberryPi can be downloaded from our homepage. To create a bootable SD-Card you may follow the instructions on the according manual page.

  • For better performance please use SD Card with minimum size of 128 GB

Starting the Installation

When RaspberryPi boots from the SD Card, the first screen of the installation is hardware model and support type:

Hit Enter on keyboard will make installer doing pre-install procedure. And after that finished, then it will display Frozentux Installation - Mainmenu:

Opening Keyboard Layout menu will display screen for selecting keyboard layout. The default layout is German so if this is your keyboard layout you can skip this step. Choose the one suit with your keyboard with highlight it, pressing space and then tab to highlight Load selected Keyboard Layout menu in the bottom:

Press tab multiple times to highlight Back menu below. Pressing Enter will bring you back to Installation Menu screen.

Then choose Partitioning menu will open Harddisk Selection screen:

Pressing tab multiple times to highlight Continue menu below, then press Enter will display confirmation screen:

Pressing tab multiple times to highlight Continue then press Enter to confirm.

Display will be back to Installation Menu and then choose Check menu. It will then display similar like above, pressing tab multiple times to highlight Continue menu below then press Enter to confirm.

Display will be back to Installation Menu and then choose Installation menu, that will start installation process. It will doing partition to the SD Card, and then copying all files needed to it.

After installation process finished, the Frozentux Setup Utility screen will be displayed:

Choose Timezone menu will bring you to Timezone selection for your location. Highlight one that suit to your location, and then Accept to set it and back to Setup screen.

Then choose Sys-Config to do basic system configuration, and then System Basic configuration screen will be displayed:

To highlight the important step here is to set DNS Server 1 and Network Interfaces for both Office LAN / WAN and Surf LAN. DNS and Office LAN setting must match with your network setup.

To edit DNS Server 1 entry, highlight it and then press Enter will allow you to change the IP value. Enter IP Address of the DNS of your network. Press Enter again to set it.

Then choose Office LAN / WAN with pressing Enter to edit, screen like below will be displayed:

Edit all the values according to your network setup. After that, highlight Accept menu in the bottom to save the setting, and then Back.

Screen will be back to System Basic configuration and now choose Surf LAN will display Sytem configuration - Surf LAN IP screen:

Make sure to put check on Enable WLAN configuration while other settings can left as default, and then choose Accept menu below, and then Back.

Screen will be back to System Basic configuration and now choose Back menu in the bottom.

This will make screen back to Frozentux Setup Utility, then choose Net-Auto menu. Then screen will be displaying:

Choose Save changes to save setting and back to System Basic configuration menu screen.

Then choose Activate in the System Basic configuration menu, and it will display confirmation screen:

Choose Yes - Do It! to confirm and apply setting. Then it will display processing screen, wait until the process finish that will display:

Choose OK will make screen back to Frozentux Setup Utility, then choose End menu will display confirmation screen. Choose Yes - Exit! to confirm.

It will then doing install multiprossesor kernel afterwards, and the status also displayed on screen. Wait for it until finish, and then screen will display:

Hit Enter to confirm and it will make screen back to Frozentux Installation - Mainmenu like below:

Choose Exit from menu will finish installation and then reboot the system.

After finishing reboot process, and display changed to:

This means that the IACBOX was successfully installed. You now see the IP address of the Office-LAN which can be used in order to open the WebAdmin of the IACBOX. Connect your workstation/notebook to the Office-LAN and open the webpage https://<ip_address> with your browser of choice (replace <ip_address> with the IP address you’ve configured which is also visible on the screen).

Hint

  • The console enables you to change certain network settings. To log in on the console, you first need to change the password for the default WebAdmin user sysop, because the login on the console will not work with the default login data (sysop/sysop). In order to change the password for the sysop user log in into the WebAdmin (see above) and click on My Account.

If you log in with the sysop user on the console, you get back into the same setup menu which you’ve seen in the installation. This can be used to change the network settings without accessing the WebAdmin.
