The Free Login essentially is a simple and quick way to offer internet access for guests without the requirement of any pre-generated credentials. This manual describes how to configure the Free Login on the IACBOX.
Free Login tickets are created on a per-device base and do not require any credentials (self-registration).
The Free Login can also be combined with the Data Collector, a form with optional or required input fields.
The Free Login configuration can be found and activated in the WebAdmin menu Login methods / Free login.
Upon activation, a Free Login button will be visible on the Client Login Page.
The Free Login can be used together with the Data Collector. To start with this, you first need to create a Data Collector Profile in the WebAdmin menu Login page / Data Collector.
After saving the new Data Collector Profile, it still has to be activated for the Free Login. In order to do so, navigate into the WebAdmin menu Login page / Login page editor and edit the currently active theme in the list All login pages. The currently active theme is selected in the segment Active login pages.
After clicking on the green Show/Edit Button for the currently active Login page, the Login page editor will open.
To make the Free Login and other modules visible, click on the section Login box 1 on the left bottom part of the Login page editor. This will open a selection for all login methods on the right side of the editor. If for some reason the Free Login did not show on the login page after activation, then it has to be activated in the selection on the right side - also any chance here has to be saved via the Save Button.
To assign the Data Collector profile to this login page, open the Tab Page, select Extensions and then enable Data Collector Inline and Save the changes.
To update the Data Collector Inline view, please Refresh the page after the last step.
After the page has been refreshed, you now find a new section called DataCollectorInline.
Here you can enable any of the created Data Collector profiles for each available login method. To confirm any changes, hit the Save button.
Use with PMS System¶
If you do have a PMS System configured on the IACBOX, then it is also possible to enable the Free Login to be shown in the PMS ticket selection. In order to do so, activate the function PMS Authentication required in the Free Login configuration. The Free Login will now be listed after guests authenticated with their PMS data.
The options of the Free Login allow you to meet certain requirements with ease. Attached are some examples:
