Stuck on 'Probing EDD'

Problem

The FrozenTux Installer gets stuck on Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)… ok

Solution

This is mainly encountered on BIOS-Boot mode-mismatch.
Most commonly this behavior occurs with Serial-Installation upon choosing the wrong mode on the following screen.

For installation via Serial Interface, [s]erial must be chosen.
For installation via VGA/DVI/HDMI, [g]raphic must be chosen.
