Resetting Network Interface Cards

Network Card Interfaces have to be re-assigned every time a Network Card gets changed, removed or added.

Open the IACBOX console (screen output) and enter the text resetsysop at the “hotspot.internet-for-guests.com” prompt. Then confirm the entry with 2x ENTER (skip the password). Now login with sysop as username and password, this starts the FT setup.

Confirm the first message to get to the main menu.

Then navigate into the menu Sys-Config.

Now navigate into the submenu “Office LAN / WAN” and exit this menu again by selecting “Accept” via TAB and then confirm with ENTER. The text next to “Office LAN / WAN” should now have changed from “< edit >” to “< done >”.

Repeat this with all interfaces displayed (Surf LAN and, if available, Management LAN).

In the course of navigating in this submenu, the Office LAN settings can be changed directly so that the IACBOX can be accessed in the network (gateway, subnet, DNS).

Navigate back to the main menu and then to the Net-Auto submenu.

Here are the IACBOX network interfaces which can then be assigned to existing NICs. It is essential that this menu is exited via “Save”. Then navigate back to the main menu via “Save Changes” - otherwise the settings will not be adopted.

This step must be repeated everytime the network interfaces change. After having returned to the main menu via “Save Changes” in the last step, navigate to “Activate” and confirm the subsequent message with “Yes - do it”. This rewrites the configuration.

Now navigate to the Server Admin menu and restart the system using the System Restart entry.

After the reboot the Surf-, Office- and Management LAN will be assigned to the chosen Network Interface Cards and are ready to be used.
